CRGP Architects

Reader, can I share with you that I’m not sure it’s all work and no play within CRGP Architects!

When I first met Bob, it was over a coffee with Stuart in their offices. Then, I bumped into him at a Breakfast Networking Meeting in the Moathouse Hotel about the regeneration of the Clydeside. Then, it was with Lindsey, their Office Manager over lunch in a Café in Great Western Road….hmmm a pattern forming, methinks!

Bob Turnbull, Stuart Hamilton and Derek Brown did say when we visited that they chose the careers of Project Manager, Building Surveyor and Architect within the Construction Industry as it allowed them to spend a reasonable split in and out of the office as they knew that personally they would rather have hot pokers in their eyes than spend all day tied to a desk. Too many buildings to design (Architect), too many buildings to inspect ensuring safe for purpose (Building Surveyor), and too many of Derek and Stuarts projects to whip into shape ensuring they are completed on time (Project Manager).

Can I start off with , as one who is freelance, and does not have an actual office, you can’t help but get blown away with the spectacle that is their office, and on arrival it does take your breath away but then we are in one of Glasgow’s most reknowned architectural practices.

Settling down into some semblance of order, Bob kicked off proceedings by giving us insight into how he came into the industry (isn’t it a relief to know that even if you don’t “make the grade” first time around, if you are passionate and determined you can still get there...?!

Lindsey, if you can send over the photographs of the Paintball Day Out, I promise not to show any photographs of Bob, Stuart, Derek or Frank, et al paint splattered and worse for wear… NOT!!
