The seeds of www.officialmerchandising.com (Official Merchandising Limited) were sown when Ian Adie, now Managing Director, toured with rock bands selling T Shirts around the World. During a visit to Japan in 1994, Ian took a 1000 T-shirts in XXL size; none of which sold !. Why ?. Because on average Japanese people are much smaller than Europeans, however, the experience taught Ian the first lesson of business – if you want to be successful ‘do your research’.

After successfully working with major acts, including Texas, Travis, Marlyn Manson, Eminem, The White Stripes and Greenday, the company, headed up by Ian and his brother Alan, decided to expand their operations into sports merchandising after hearing a radio programme declaring “football was the new rock ‘n’ roll.” The company, based in Dalmarnock, Glasgow, hasn’t looked back since.

The company have provided merchandising services to FIFA, UEFA, Nike and adidas and have 2 Champions League Finals, 2 UEFA Cup Finals, 1 UEFA Supercup Final in Monaco, 12 Scottish Cup Finals and over 50 Scottish International matches to their credit. Ian truly has been there, done that and sold the T-Shirt.
